Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026. Applies to the Sketchy Maps iPhone app and this website.
The short version: Sketchy Maps collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers and no cookies, in the app or on the website. We never see who you are, where you are, or how you play.
Your game data stays on your device
Your scores, streak and settings are stored only on your device. In the app they are kept in the app's own storage (shared with its home-screen widget). On the website they are kept in your browser's local storage. None of it is sent to us. Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, deletes it.
Location
The game never asks for or uses your location. The pins you drop on the globe are guesses about the places in the game, and they never leave your device.
Purchases (Apple)
Sketchy Maps+ is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, payment details or Apple ID. The app only asks Apple whether this device's Apple ID owns Sketchy Maps+. Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Game Center (Apple)
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app submits your daily score and streak to Game Center leaderboards. Game Center is run by Apple; your Game Center nickname and scores are visible to other players according to your Game Center settings. We don't receive any other information about you. If you're not signed in, nothing is submitted.
The website
The website is a set of static files. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or third-party scripts, and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. We don't use that information to identify or track anyone.
Children
Because the app and site collect no personal data from anyone, they collect none from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If we ever wanted to collect something, we would say so here first.
